REV-MED (CEO: Edward BG Shin), a regenerative medicine biotechnology company, announced the launch of a comprehensive consulting service designed to support medical institutions seeking designation as Advanced Regenerative Medicine Practice Institutions and to facilitate the establishment of regenerative medicine clinical research programs.

The new service leverages more than 15 years of experience in stem cell research, biologics processing technologies, and regenerative medicine development accumulated by the company.

Following recent amendments to Korea’s Advanced Regenerative Medicine and Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Safety and Support Act, qualified medical institutions may now apply for designation by the Ministry of Health and Welfare to provide advanced regenerative medicine services, including certain stem cell-related clinical applications. As interest in regenerative medicine continues to grow, many hospitals and clinics are preparing applications but face challenges related to regulatory requirements, facility standards, and the preparation of complex treatment and clinical research plans.

According to REV-MED, successful designation requires more than infrastructure alone.

A company representative explained:

“A facility-centered approach is often insufficient. While physical infrastructure is important, the key factors for long-term success include qualified research personnel, well-designed clinical research protocols, and the ability to develop practical treatment plans that meet regulatory expectations.”

The consulting program is built upon REV-MED’s extensive experience developing biologics concentration and processing systems, including the NovaStem and DuoCell platforms, which utilize autologous blood-, bone marrow-, and adipose-derived biological materials.

Rather than offering a simple application support service, REV-MED provides customized consulting solutions that cover both institutional designation and operational readiness, including:

  • Customized facility planning and workflow design
  • Development of regenerative medicine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Training and recruitment support for specialized research personnel
  • Assistance with clinical research protocol development
  • Technical support for treatment plan preparation
  • Ongoing operational consulting for regenerative medicine programs

The company’s approach is designed to help healthcare institutions establish sustainable regenerative medicine capabilities while reducing the challenges associated with regulatory compliance and clinical implementation.

Commenting on the launch, CEO Edward BG Shin stated:

“For the past 15 years, REV-MED has been committed to advancing regenerative medicine and promoting safe treatment environments. Through this consulting service, we aim to help our partner institutions enter the regenerative medicine field more efficiently and provide innovative treatment opportunities to patients through strong technical and academic support.”

REV-MED expects the program to strengthen collaboration with hospitals and clinics throughout Korea while contributing to the continued growth and professionalization of the country’s regenerative medicine ecosystem.
